GRAPHITE DESIGN INTERNATIONAL LAUNCHES
NEW 'PURPLE ICE GOLF CLUB SHAFT

SAN DIEGO, CA Graphite Design International ("GDI") announces that its new, technologically-breakthrough "Purple Ice" golf-club shafts for drivers and woods are now available to the golf trade and consumers.

The Purple Ice shafts -- easily identified by their namesake color -- are made of an industry-low amount of resin and high-modulus fiber. This, combined with GDI's design technology, produces improved launch angles and greater clubhead speed for todays oversized, low-spin clubheads.

In addition to increased swing velocity and power, Purple Ice shafts" low torsional values allow golfers more directional control with center and off-center hits.

Greg Norman won The Skins Game in November using a prototype Purple Ice shaft. Since then, many top-ranked PGA Tour players have tested and put Purple Ice shafts into tournament play. They commonly say Purple Ice shafts are extremely lively and have exceptional feel and feedback at impact.

Norman, winner of 87 international titles including 18 PGA Tour events and two British Open Championships, says with specific reference to Purple Ice shafts: "Graphite Design shafts help make me a better player and GDI makes the best shafts on the market, no matter your skill level.

PURPLE ICE TECHNOLOGY allows the golfer to use a slight less lofted clubhead, increasing distance with excellent trajectory, improved ability to work the ball in a selected direction, and accuracy with off-center hits. The industry trend is a clubhead with less loft, has less closed face positions. PURPLE ICE SHAFTS are available in 85grams in 335 tip and 350 tip. These are the most popular weight shafts used by skilled players.
Purple Ice has been developed using the most advanced materials with the industry. The high modulus (MSI 70) fiber produces a low torsion product for increased accuracy and less backspin. The launch angle is greatly improved for an easy in the air ball flight due to the correct position of the kick point in the shaft. Special attention has been studied and applied to the amount of stiffness in each section of the shaft. Normally a low torque product would be difficult to hit by the weekend warrior, yet PURPLE ICE TECHNOLOGY is developed for all skill level of players. Purple Ice shaft is available in three flexes, R / S / X. Each flex and model is designated using our Velocity Cubed coding. Example is the S flex model is 85V3 S. The V3 represents the velocity to the "third" power developed by design in the lower portion of the shaft. This increases clubhead speed and provides maximum acceleration through impact. What do you feel using the Purple Ice shaft? You will get more feel than tip stiff & butt stiff.

The introduction of Purple Ice shafts comes on the heels of GDI's success with its Graphite YS (for woods) and multi-metal GAT (for irons) shafts.

GDI shafts were used in wins by 22 Tour players worldwide: eight PGA Tour, eight Senior PGA Tour, two Buy.com Tour, two Japan PGA Tour, one LPGA Tour and one European PGA Tour.

GDI shafts are used in the golf clubs of roughly 40 percent of PGA Tour players in most every tournament, and they refer to GDI as the Mercedes Benz of shafts in terms of performance.

Purple Ice shafts are available in a 85V3 (83 g) model in R, S, and X flexes and .335 or .350 tip models. The V3 coding represents velocity to the "third" power. Torque is 2.5, 3.5 inch parallel tip section. We'd be happy to reshaft your favorite driver or fairway wood with any of the excellent Graphite Design shafts. Prices start at $25 for labor plus materials and shipping.
