Special Limited TOUR ONLY Shaft Sale
New, Advanced Composite Material is already making waves on TOUR
(June 23, 2003 Los Angeles, CA)
Already making tremendous inroads with their high-performance
golf shafts on all professional golf tours, MCC/Apache is taking
an unprecedented step of offering a TOUR ONLY product to consumers
in a special limited quantity and flex. Dubbed the Prototype N,
this shaft takes the best qualities of an established line and
combines it with radical improvements in composite materials.
MCC/Apache built upon long-heralded proprietary features like "TTR" [Tip Torsional Resistance] to retain stability at the moment of impact. Constant innovation from MCC has yielded a new composite material unlike any other for the Prototype N. The shaft is a result of painstaking and extensive R&D work in both the MCC lab and the Doctorate of Composite Engineering labs of UCLA.
Aside from the technology marvel of the Proto N, KJ Choi, Notah Begay, Charles Howell III, David Frost, Esteban Toldeo, Grant Waite and Dean Wilson are using the shaft on TOUR now, per the Darrell survey. The Prototype N was created in the lab then proven in the field, with 2 solid months of feedback and improvements from TOUR players.
MCC/Apache has a limited number of these proprietary shafts available to the public, on a first come-first served basis. Unfortunately this offer of the Prototype N is only available in R1, R2, and R3 flex. These exclusive TOUR shafts also feature different bending profiles and are individually labeled "LT" for Low trajectory, "MT" for Mid trajectory, and "HT" for High trajectory. The complexity of the manufacturing process means that this shaft will never have large commercial production runs. However, it will continue to be produced for use in limited quantities only for the TOUR.

Why it's so special...
It looks like there will be less than 50 shafts of this model "ever" sold. The proprietary material we use in this design, can not be ordered (stocked) or stored in the same manner traditional composite fibers ( or prepreg) can , that are traditionally or commonly used. Add that to the design taper rate, (this model requires that 100% of its flag contruction be precisely hand cut to astonishing decimals and angles.) variable bending profile features, then combining both proprietary and composite materials to achieve a cohesive blend, all extremely time consuming done with each and every shafts&! preparation, construction, plus application of ply's and flag designs are all unique to name just a few reasons for those interested in why? So you can assure those interested, a production model will not be produced for sale. As I stated in the P.R. we are extremely happy to be able to make such a shaft for some of the best golfers' in the world. And will continue to make this design for TOUR players who demand it.
