Are you a connoisseur of fine forged irons?
Introducing the Miura CB 501
Sweet Spot Muscle Back
When the CB-501 was in development our goal was to combine the best features from our favorite Miura irons, both past and present. We were striving for the ideal ball flight: enough offset to promote playability, the perfect head size, and a sole grind that would accommodate a broad range of players.
We started with a full cavity back that had a bit more offset than the CB-202, which has almost none. We worked the sole grind until we had something that a tour player would use, but was forgiving enough for a mid-handicap golfer as well. At this point, the ball flight was still not what we wanted, so we went to the archives and borrowed a design feature from our past. We call it the sweet-spot muscle-back.
We originally used it in a very different iron from 1996, the CB 1003. It is essentially a small muscle-back behind the sweet-spot of a cavity-back iron. It will deliver the trajectory of a blade when the ball is struck on the center of the face. This style of iron also offers cavity-back forgiveness and ball flight, as the contact point moves away from the center of the face.
We spent two years integrating these design variables in different ways until we found the blend that worked best for the widest range of golfers.
If you are a connoisseur of forged irons you should consider the new CB-501. We are confident it will quickly become your new best friend.
