I like the trajectory of the Dynamic shaft (sloped S to R from PW to
LW) in my wedges, But don't like that heavy a feel in my long & mid irons,
so I am considering the Dynamic Lites, esp. since I have heard so much
positve feedback about them from Dave T., who incidentally is similar to
me in swingspeed (mine is 75-80 5-iron) and swinger's swing (so he says).
So does anyone know what I should do as far as tip trimming? Whats the
DSFI? What did you do, Dave?

Thanks!

Dave,

I built a LH 8.5 driver for a guy a few months ago. The only place I could
find a head like that was at Lauden Golf. 800-456-7095. They're in
Jacksonville Fla. Can't help you on the shaft though.

Hello,
Since I live abroad and don't have access to the Golfsmith toll free
number, maybe someone here can help. Are the Tour Model II and IV
identical iron heads (except for the camber) or are there other
differences, such as offset for example. Thanks.

Hello Alan,
The catalog says the Tour Model IV is slightly offset while the Tour
Model II is moderately offset. You can get the Tour Model IV with
standard weight or graphite weighted, and with "V" grooves or square
grooves in the standard weight. The standaed weight of the IV is
identical to the II, as are loft and lie.

Try 800-595-9972. They say they have 4-8 degree lie clubs. Don't know about
left handed clubs. Probably worth a free call and you can tell us about
them. Found themin the classified section of Golf Digest.

It seems that "standard" lies vary! I currently use Golfsmith Sterling
Irons which are 2 degrees upright from the Harvey Penick Master's that I
used last year. You may want to compare lies of different heads, use one
that is quite upright, and have it bent an additional 2 degrees. Just a
thought.

Hi,

I'm just getting started and learning what I can about golf club making
- - thanks Dave Tutelman. I've received a couple of catalogues from the
larger suppliers (GolfSmith, GolfWorks, etc.). However, I'm looking
for component suppliers/distributors in Canada, more specifically

I'm trying to locate a club. My father used to build and sell clubs.
Shortly before he passed away he made me a set of "Bubble Burner" clones. The
bottom of the Heads say "Bomber" and it also has Tour Model printed on them.
The shafts have "Balloon Power Weight System" printed on them. I'm trying to
find out what company he purchased them from because I want to get a matching
7 wood.
If anyone knows what company carries these products, I'd love to hear from
you.

Tour IV is similar to Ping Zing, later model, oversize head.

That number is for a company named NewAge golf, and its 4-8 degree
loft, not lie. I did see an ad in a recent PCS Journal for variable
lie clubs. When I get home I'll dig it out and post.

Think about this some more. If you are in Ontario, you will pay Ontario
Sales Tax! Call 1-800-426-3673 for Caltek Golf and Training in Calgary.
Keep an eye open for the opening of Golfsmith store in Vancouver in
November. I learned a few weeks ago the staff were in training in Texas,
and they should be opening soon.

Caltek also run club maker training courses. They have several vacant
spots in Dec., Jan. & Feb.

Caltek run club maker training courses. They have several vacant
spots in Dec., Jan. & Feb. Look up their web page at

You will find a description of the Company, their certified course, and

Their Web Page needs work, but they hire this out, and changes take time.
I have no interest in the firm, but I am sold on their integrity. I am
booked on their course in November. Maximum 3 per class under a Certified

Any reccomendations for winter golf gloves, both hands. It is important to

It sounds like you are from the MidWest also. We played Saturday morning
and it was cold here too. The wind chill was about 8 above.
A member of our foursome had a head cover on his right hand to keep it
warm. (I wouldn't recommend it, it looks kind of silly)
